Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Heldenkaiser - 01-07-2008 Bidermann and I just completed a game of "Germany - BAOR 1990". It's in the "Modern - NATO vs Warsaw Pact" folder of TOAW3 but I don't seem to be able to find it in the pulldown menu. Can I request that this scenario be added to the list? Thanks. :) RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Currahee - 01-07-2008 It's up now! RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Heldenkaiser - 01-07-2008 Thank you! :) RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Bidermann - 01-09-2008 As a scenario it just did not work, I dont think TOAW game system works with Modern war,s[/u] RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Currahee - 01-09-2008 I think the system can handle it, but the designers often miss the boat. I haven't played this particular scenario, but modern warfare is very fluid because of high mobility, and fewer boots on the ground, and the TOAW game system is somewhat "sticky", making it hard to move through zones of control, unless "active disengagement" is turned off. Some of the development team members on TOAW III were real modern-war fanatics, and I think they got most of what they wanted in the new game engine, especially in terms of aircraft performance modifications, anti-air missiles, etc. Again, TOAW III hasn't been in designers' hands long enough to see a lot of new developments, but I think the potential is there. RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Heldenkaiser - 01-09-2008 I agree with Bidermann and posted a rather lengthy comment to this effect in the appropriate field in the end game report. However, I don't seem to be able to find any place where these comments actually show up? RE: Registration Help - BAOR 1990 - Currahee - 01-10-2008 I don't know of any way to read them either; but I think it would be tremendously helpful, if we could. I'll post over in the officers' forum, and see if there's some way we can make those accessible; then we could encourage short AAR's at the time the game's reported, focused on helping others decide if they'd like to play that scenario. |
