MBT questions - keepitloki - 02-07-2008 2 questions: Firstly, my download of mbt is running REALLY slow, this improves if I play it in the window rather than full screen. CAn anyone tell me what's wrong? Second, does anyone out there have the patience to show me the ropes on WinSPmbt? I havn't really played at all, even against the A.I. mainly because of the slow thing explained above. RE: MBT questions - Greybeard - 02-07-2008 Hello Keepitloki, MBT can run slow.. mainly because the sound routines are mp3 files.. takes more resources.. Also, there are adjustemts to game speed that can be made. The options start menu lets you set the majority of performance preferences... try reducing the default numbers.. there is also a .ini file you can edit with a text editor.. make a backup just in case. File name is 'camogame' located in the 'game data' folder. It's pretty self explanitory.. Finally - MBT seems to need a system that runs at least 1ghz.. when the windows version arrived, I had my trusty 500mhz system.. it almost couldn't handle it.. game ran slow no matter what my settings were. biggest help was to turn off all the sound effects.. and a screen resolution of 800x600 ran slower than the 680x480. Greybeard RE: MBT questions - Thesix - 02-08-2008 There was a discussion/poll concerning the preferences on the official forum. http://www.shrapnelcommunity.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=414011&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 RE: MBT questions - Fokkov - 02-08-2008 Turning off the 'Interface mouse click" in the Misc menu helped me a lot when i played on an older machine, its something also mentioned in the shrapnel forum. RE: MBT questions - keepitloki - 02-08-2008 All these things helped a little bit, it still runs a bit clunky but its better than it was. Will messing around with the settings affect PBEM or map editor? RE: MBT questions - Greybeard - 02-08-2008 No, the system preferences are local on your system only.. won't affect others at all..
