question on patrolling feature - Mafooo - 02-12-2008

Does the deception unit that is causing disruption of T mode units have to be in deception range of the patrolling unit for that deception unit disruption effect to be nullified?

The reason I ask is that I am playing a game where a hidden deception unit is disrupting my T mode units, yet the disruption is continuing to take place ADJACENT to a inf unit that I have placed in patrol mode. The deception range for my side is 4, so im thinking my unit on patrol would nullify enemy deception units disruption ability within 4 hexes of my unit on patrol, no? Or...does my patrol unit only nullify the disruption effect if the enemy deception unit is within 4 hexes of my patrol unit? Someone clarify this for me..

I have a feeling Patrols have no effect on Deception units. Just Partisans. But I could be totally wrong. If they do then I will be deploying patrols all over the place in my Bulge game. Those deception units are driving me to despair. I think they have to much effect.

Correct - the Patroling section of the doc refers specifially to Partisan units and follows the section on Partisans in the docs. But I can see where confusion would arise.

Partisans however are ground units without ZOCs that have the effect of Deception Units.

So just to be clear, a partisan unit is still a partisan when in ?-form, is that correct? So patrolling would handle the partisans in either form when within range.

Can't recall how John structured the code and he isn't around to ask. You would have to check it out in a test I think.
