new RS ME 02/03 scen - Mr. Guberman - 07-19-2008 Gents, Another small one. This one was essentially done and didn't need much tweaking to code in the proper OOB numbers. Here the Dutch try "Blitz Buggies" to try and stem the advance of the Shoji Detachment in the north central beach head as it storms it's way toward Kalidjati Airfield. A very tough, but doable task for the Dutch player. viz: Pamanoekan Bridge 1 March 1942 West of Soebang, Java: In the early hours of March 1st, the Japanese Shoji Detachment established a beachhead at Enrekan, north central Java. Even though the Allied air forces had made relatively effective attacks on the landing operations and made somewhat of a jumble of the carefully timed Japanese plans, with initiative, elements of the Shoji Detachment immediately moved out of the beachhead, striking south and west. At 0610 hrs, the Osawa Advance Party set out due south for Soebang and by 0800 hrs what was on the beach of the rest of the Wakamatsu Unit followed. By 1000 hrs, the Japanese spearhead had reached Soebang and turned west toward the strategic airfields of Kalidjati and Tjikampek, both west of the Pamanoekan Bridge. At 1030 hrs, the lead Japanese units ran into the Dutch 3rd Recon Cavalry Group, sent to block the advance and to destroy the bridge at Pamanoekan. So sudden was the Japanese advance, they were already in the Dutch rear area, some Allied units near the route of the Japanese advance remained sitting, paralyzed. The Dutch 3rd Recon Cavalry Group must stem the advance, somehow, without getting run over. Cheers Curt |
