Operation Crusader - JRTXX - 11-24-2008 Ive been searching though some books and stories,,, then bouncing around the Blitz,,, found a good story on apparently an old Tiller game, Operation Crusader. Went to Amazon, etc,,, looks like it was at one point in time a PC game,,, Id like to find out about it,,, and >>>>>> is there a WF campaign based on it? I ran through the listed scenarios on the scenario lists and didnt see anything specifically named Crusader,,, any info on , or, about,,,, would be appreciated John RE: Operation Crusader - Valor - 11-24-2008 There are some scenarios covering engagements which took place during the Operaction "Crusader": "Ariete: the Ram" "Debut of the Honey" "Gabr Saleh" "Round One at Sigi Rezegh" "Sunday of the Dead" "Decision at Sigi Rezegh" All are stock scenarios. Best regards Slawek RE: Operation Crusader - fastphil - 11-25-2008 I believe it was released by AH (Avalon Hill) originally but it is an operational level game. More like the PZC games. I will check to night at home. I probably still have a copy of it. I believe it is DOS/W95 but it might be W98.:smoke: RE: Operation Crusader - 1925frank - 11-25-2008 I think Les Baker has a giant Crusader scenario. You can find his e-mail address if you go to the Matrix forum for Campaign Series and look under mods. He's got at least one thread he's started. RE: Operation Crusader - Gris - 11-25-2008 Hi JRTXX, I believe it was Avalon Hill and Atomic (makers of Close Combat). Part of the World at War Series. Operation Crusader, Stalingrad, and D-Day America Invades. The Blitz FTP has WAW Stalingrad for download and I think the guys on the Classic Ladder might have more info (as well as play it). There are pretty old and If remember they came on floppy disk. Blitz FTP ftp://209.164.73.216/pub/games/ Not much about it on the net that I could find, but here is a link with a box cover. http://www.answers.com/topic/operation-crusader Hope this helps RE: Operation Crusader - Bioman - 11-25-2008 John Tiller has an existing game out that includes the Operation Crusader battles and most of the battles around Tobruk. It is called " Panzer Campaigns: Tobruk '41" and is a more operational scale that what the Campaign Series is. It's units range from platoons to battalions. It is available from the NWS Online Combat Gaming Store for $32.99 plus shipping. The game includes supply and units receiving replacements. There are at present 17 games in the series covering battles during most of the ETO battles from 1940 to 1945. RE: Operation Crusader - Outlaw Josey Wales - 11-26-2008 And lots of scenarios covering Cruader broken down into phases or the entire operation. I believe there are also mods for 1940(Italians) and 1942 Gazala-that being said I could have them confused with mods for EA42 vice mods for T41. But when you own them all, what does it matter. RE: Operation Crusader - JRTXX - 11-26-2008 Once again Gentlemen,,, Generals,,, Thank you for your overwhelming response and fantastic information!!!!! hats off to all of you! |
