Computer - War in Europe II - Joe98 - 12-11-2008 This is currently under development by Decision Games www.decisiongames.com Apparently it is due for release in the next month or so. I have downloaded the demo. I am very impressed! I was expecting an old fashioned board game made for PC. But it is much more than that. The developers have taken advantage of computers to make wargaming better. Has anybody else played the demo or the original board game? - RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Steel God - 12-11-2008 I remember playing the original board version by SPI back in the 80s. But it's a dim memory. RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Ricky B - 12-11-2008 Played the boardgame, still have it, along with the WW1 module - some fellow Marines and I played a number of turns of it back almost 30 years ago. Enjoyed it a lot until I got into the Europa series, which I enjoyed even more. Tried the original CWIE but never tried the full game. Rick RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Steel God - 12-15-2008 Ahhhh Europa. The rules were odd at first, with all the "regimental equivalents" but once you got that concept in your head, play flowed smoothly. A dear friend of mine (Godfather to my youngest) played hell out of Europa's North African game. RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Outlaw Josey Wales - 02-06-2009 Would love to see Europa series on the puter. RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Joe98 - 06-03-2009 A demo of the game can be downloaded. The demo includes the full manual. http://www.decisiongames.com/wwii/europe/europe.htm The game has that board game look and feel but it is not as board gamey as the screen shots make out. The game has a series of Scenarios and Campaigns. The Scenarios and Campaigns are set in various places across the map and in various weather conditions The difference between Scenarios and Campaigns is that Campaigns include production The first screeny is from the Russian front The boot of Italy. The English channel The final screen shot shows how tactical air warfare is resolved. The player has a choice as to where he can move his available air points. The choices are: Air Superiority Ground Support Air Sea interdiction Transfer the points to another front RE: Computer - War in Europe II - JasonC - 06-03-2009 Slow, clumsy interface. Forces you to click about a bazillion times to do anything. RE: Computer - War in Europe II - Joe98 - 10-12-2015 Anyone free for a game?
