Taliban/British Troops - Hedgehog - 01-24-2009 Listening to a programme on the radio and the subject was, should British troops be treated side by side in Hospital with Taliban terrorist when they are injured, my self I would have thought that would be the last thing troops would want to see after regaining conciseness......I know there is a treaty that allows enemy troops to be cared for, But terrorist, let's get real here, any opinion's on this ? Ted RE: Taliban/British Troops - Iwo Jim - 01-24-2009 If these guys where soldiers from some national defense force that would be one thing, but what to do with these guys once we do treat them? If we let them go we are basically giving them another shot to kill coalition troops, we are facing this very dilemma here in the U.S. with all this talk of shutting down GITMO GMAFB ......what are we gonna do with them? As in every conflict the aggressor sets the rules of engagement so lets not loose to much sleep if these guys don’t receive the best care if wounded and captured …. I’m gonna go out on a limb here but I’m pretty sure they would not provide similar care to our guys …… buts that’s just my 2 cents for what its worth......:stir: RE: Taliban/British Troops - Antoni Chmielowski - 01-25-2009 Apparently in the Geneva Convention it says opponents should be medically treated BUT not where. Its not ideal but can you imagine what the Guardian readers would say if a Taliban because he wasnt medically treated !:stir: RE: Taliban/British Troops - Outlaw Josey Wales - 01-25-2009 When it comes to terrorists I see it like this....... Men - Terrorists, a dead terrorist today is no terrorist tomorrow. Women - Load bearing equipment for new terrorists. Eliminate the production plant, no more new terrorists coming out of it. Children - New terrorists. If can't be raised away from that kind of thinking, elimnate them. I know it's harsh, but if the terrorist has a family, they are terrorists too. You have to eliminate them. The fact that closing Gitmo is a HUGE mistake. Don't bring them here. The other fact that they should get a trial is also a big joke. You cannot put a terrorist in prison for 10 yrs. All you are doing is giving him 10 yrs to stew and be more pissed when he gets released and then you are right where you were 10 yrs ago. Kill them all, better them and their families than us and ours!!!!!!!! Call me what you want, I really don't care. I take it personal when you have a bunch of scoundrels target innocent civilians like the cowards they are, just like criminals, I have a very, very low tolerance for those kind of so called people. That sounds a bit like what someone tried to implenent during WW2 - and everyone condemns what happened. RE: Taliban/British Troops - Bidermann - 01-25-2009 I am with you Outlaw Josey Wales, the time for playing by the rules are over. Lets play just as hard as they do and show no merrcy. RE: Taliban/British Troops - Steel God - 01-25-2009 Hey guys, in case it has slipped anyone's mind, we try and avoid current events topics such as these. While many folks, me included, wouldn't mind discussing these topics, there are plenty of places on the web that such topics can be discussed without having it intrude on our gaming here. So, I'm going to have to lock down this thread. Thanks for your cooperation. |
