Well done HPS! - Mr Grumpy - 06-06-2009

I a response to the general gloom of the last thread i would like to congratulate HPS on three new titles!

I think War on the Southern Front will make a excellent addition to our ladder and i will be buying this to dip my toe into TWIE. :)

Having been involved in a new project i can now fully appreciate the work that goes into producing these titles often by designers working in their spare time, so i am sorry that some of you are disappointed but don't lose sight of the fact that without HPS's efforts we would all be much poorer for enjoying our hobby! :soap:

OK now let me see if i can beat the Desert Fox?? :chin:

I concur but then I'm prejudiced.:smoke: Father's Day and my birthday are coming up so maybe a five pack from HPS is in order.

One thing I have always liked about HPS design philosophy is the diversity in time period, scale and locations of the battles being portrayed. Its a strenght, not a weakness, and of great benefit for all people interested in history, military conflicts and wargaming.

Thanks guys. Having tested on the TWIE/War on the Southern Front game, I would say that if you liked the first game in the series, this one will be even better as the situations are more fluid than the France battles from the first one. And most of the battles have enough units, between broken down divisions and independent type units, to keep them interesting but fast to play.

Greece and the Balkans I thought were especially good.

Good thread!:) I don't understand all that whining that goes on in the other thread... Well, can't please 'em all Big Grin

Yes, I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into these games, regardsless of series or era. Even though I have had no knowledge of a given historical subject, I have always enjoyed the HPS games a lot. I now have all of them, and will of course also buy the three new ones.

I love the Ancients and SB series, and know what I can expect from the new games. But the title that surprised me the most, and that I am really looking forward to try out, is the Southern Front game. I have always been fascinated by this theater of war, so.... :smoke:

I am one happy gamer :)

I'm particularly interested in this part of the new TWIE game.

Another good job by HPS! cheers
