The need for the CD in the drive to be removed by HPS! - Mr Grumpy - 07-23-2009

Gents,
It has been announced by Rich H over at his Game Squad blog that HPS will be phasing out the need for the game CD to be located in your PC's drive to play any HPS title! Big Grin

You can read his post here Rich H Blog as this process will take some time to update all of the 65+ HPS titles his post also gives you the method to create a "magic disk" to allow you to open any HPS title without having to keep replacing the disk in your PC's drive. :)

I am sure that will make some of you very happy........

The 'magic disk' thing has been around for a while, but not really in the general public for fear of pirating. In fact, the post where I learned how to do this several years ago was 'hidden' here. Perhaps I'll unhide it to have as a reference. It's a great tool for those who don't want to carry so many discs around!

Just got home from work, burnt a CD-R (leaving it open for future SB titles) ... and voila! it worked like a charm. Thanks for the great tip!

If what has been reported is true we wont need any CD anymore

Rich's blog indicated that every HPS title will be going this route.
