Scenario Creation Help - Larry Reese - 08-19-2009 Is there any way to easily go in and edit unit positions in the SCN file? I expanded the map and shifted it, and of course the units are still located in the hex numbers from the old map. Rather than moving them by click and drop, if there is a way to simply edit the SCN file in some form of automated process I'd really love to do that instead. The scenario is huge and the unit counts high. Any thoughts? LR RE: Scenario Creation Help - Herr Straße Laufer - 08-19-2009 I think Umbro and/or RedDevil can help you with this one. I was never taught how to read scenario code. :eek1: I did manually do it once. I removed them from the rein schedule and then moved them, and then put them back in as reins in the new correct hex. I hope they can help you. My scenario was small and still took too much time to do that. Good luck! RR RE: Scenario Creation Help - umbro - 08-19-2009 Larry: In your scenario file, after the header block, there are a number of lines that start with a 0. These are the unit descriptors. and have the format: 0 X Y Unit_type Unit_ORG_index Orientation, etc. X Y is the hex that the unit is located in, and the units are listed in hex order X, Y. Be careful doing global search/replace as these co-ordinates are values found in other fields. umbro RE: Scenario Creation Help - Larry Reese - 08-19-2009 You bet. Thanks. LR |
