M4 (105) question - Fubar - 04-04-2010 I thought that the Sherman (105) could be used for arty indirect fire? I have some as a Battalion asset but they seem to be only capable of direct fire, is this correct? Hi Matt: :smoke: Yes. That's how I've used the Sherman (105) units... direct fire against infantry and other "soft" targets. I like these AFVs... and as an American commander, you can never have too many of them! :) RE: M4 (105) question - Glint - 04-11-2010 I always thought they were capable of indirect fire in real life? RE: M4 (105) question - Troll - 04-13-2010 They are capable of IDF and if you have ever watched WWII war footage, an inclined ramp (usually made of dirt) has to be built so they can get the needed elevation. They also used regular 75 mm Shermans the same way. Also the Pershing was used for IDF in Korea. The organization of the unit is why they could be used that way. It had spotters, HQ and infrastructure to maintain sustained IDF. :chin: Most fire for this scale would be direct fire? But, could be modeled into the game if Jason and crew would provide a battery of Sherman 105's for indirect use. HSL |
