Combat Missions and Windows 7 troubles - Hughen Tanken de Tote - 07-03-2010

I have a new system. It came with Windows 7 home premium. Any chance anyone can tell me how to get the Combat Mission games ( Afrika Corps, Barbarosa to Berlin and Beyond Overlord ) to work right in that operating system. I tried ( I think ) compatability mode and it made some issues okay but I still can't load e-mail saved files and everytime I shutdown all the PBEM folders dissapear!

ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

I only have Vista, but I had the exact problem. In Vista, I have to right-click on the respective CM icon, and then choose "run as administrator." Maybe give that a try? Good luck!

I have Vista as well, and I had to set the game up and install it as the Adminisrator as well as run it as the Adminisrator. Some one might have the Vista patch that they might be willing to lrt you try out.

This is what I did

when you finish your turn and have just saved the PBEM file, straight-away Load a PBEMGameFile but instead of choosing any file , right-click on your savedgamefile select copy, now click documents or wherever you want to save it , right-click & Paste.

But My true answer is install in C: or create a folder C:\CM or somewhere with no restrictions.

I had the exact same problem. I fixed it somehow by right clicking the CMBB folder and allowing full read/write access to the folder and sub folders. Sorry I dont remember exactgly how I did it. Windows 7 puts restrictions on programs put in the "Program Files (x86)" area. Later I had to reinstall everything and found the best solution is to install the program elsewhere, for example in your Documents folder.

Also I ended up right clicking the exectuible and checking "run as administrator, and also checking compatibility mode to Windows XP.

Also I have and highly recommend the CMBB Vista patch, as you will no longer need the game CD after licensing through the web one time.

I use Win7 Home Premium as well.

I got all three games to work by installing into c:\Program Files\x686
folder

Then pin the .exe file to the taskbar for each game to play them.

The only problem I have is that CMBB & CMAK take an age to load BUT CMBO runs immediately !

(BTW I dont have the Vista patch)
