Wagram Campaign - Caius - 07-08-2010

Hi guys. Nearing end of Wagram Campaign. I think it is last scenario in Campaign. Picked my options for battle and sent turn to opponent. I get it back and receive “error reading PDWC btc” PDWC was the game name. It is the correct file my friend sent me with the cpf notation. I have resaved several times with same error result. Tried redoing my last turn and again same result. Any one has this problem or suggestions? Hate to give up this far in Campaign. Thanks.

Caius.

Do you save your emails back and forth? If so, then try re-saving an earlier file from one of the most recent emails, and see if this doesn't solve the problem.

I save the last file until the newest one arrives. Save old file to game and redid my turn. Friend at other end gets error. I tried doing his turn with same error.

This sometimes happens.

Delete the pbem xxx and yyy files. They get corrupted sometimes. Make sure your opponent does likewise. Try redoing the previous turn to last.

Hope that helps!

If it doesn't you can email Rich Hamilton at the HPS tech support. he and others are very helpful.

You must regularly delete the pbem xxx and yyy files or you will get an error in pbem games.

Well I was unable to find a pbem XXX file. Could not find such file in any Campaign games. Never deleted such files before and have had no error reading file message. I did remove the pbem YYY file. I save last functioning turn and tried to continue on my own. It goes through the options both side have for the scenario, then I get the error. Thanks for your responses though guys.

No we are not trying to view the replay. Time ended for Campaign scenario. After options picked for next scenario the error shows up, can't open game from there.

OK I get the picture. I think you guys are in trouble. I've heard of this problem before. The 2-player hot seat also has bugs/flaws where the game crashes and is gone forever. I hope I'm wrong and that support can send you a lifeline.
