Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - jonnymacbrown - 07-22-2010 My opponent dropped out due to the real world. Would like to play a fast-paced 1914 early campaign as the French, 3-4 turns a week, really move along, get it going. I have the time, and I've got the beer. Just need a Hun! jonny RE: Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - jonnymacbrown - 07-23-2010 Game closed! Thanks guys! jonny RE: Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - tquinn - 07-26-2010 Hey Jonny, I've tried for three days to get registered on this site. Finally in. I was hoping to rake falling leaves with you. The Imperial German war machine stands ready to advance. Just awaiting your downed gauntlet. Are you still available or has my place been filled? Really looking forward to it. I'm home every day so I can do 3-5 turns per week, depending upon your replies. Love this game. Jimmy Dunnigan (designer of Avalon Hill's 1914 would be proud - by the way, that was his second creation after AH Jutland). In 1914 you needed a counter for every 'step' lost; there were thousands of them! Nice map too, just like in this game. I also remember playing Jutland on the floor, with the measuring sticks and cardboard battleships! Ok Take the Huns! jonny:smoke: RE: Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - tquinn - 07-26-2010 Thanks, Jonny. I've played by email years ago with Talonsoft games. I'll need just a little help here. Would you mind setting it up (or instructing me how to do it)? Also, are we going to use default optional rules? I'm not sure which ones to check for PBEM. A little guidance on the admin please. I'm fine on the killing and dying. Jim D and Al Nofi (a friend) helped me when I published my books. Looking forward to it. As soon as you "instruct" me, I'll play my first turn. Tom RE: Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - jonnymacbrown - 07-26-2010 "Jim D and Al Nofi (a friend) helped me when I published my books." Both those fellows basically began wargaming as we know it now, with some help from whomever was @ Avalon Hill in those days. I used to get Strategy & Tactics every month. Instructions sent! jonny RE: Still seeking German for Campaign 1914 (early) - tquinn - 07-26-2010 Jonny, Haven't got them yet. Did you post reply or send to my email? TQ |
