What do units represent? - wardog - 08-05-2010

cheers Just what do the units represent? I think I read that each unit represents a certain number of platoons. If the unit has a 2 then is that 2 platoons?

1 SP of infanty type units (including mortorized HQ's) represents 5 men.

1 SP of vehicles = 1 vehicle

1 SP of guns = 1 gun

So a 6 SP infantry unit represents a 30 man platoon

A 5 SP tank unit represents a 5 tank platoon

and a 3 SP artillery piece represents a 3 gun battery.

Thanx!

Hawk

Another way to interpret 1 SP of infantry is as a half-squad. Platoon sizes varied a bit between combattants (and some nations changed sizes over time as well), but most platoon TO&E's call for 3 squads per platoon.
