Just wanted to comment on something I find vaguely disturbing.

Several months back I installed a reverse osmosis system in our kitchen, running a branch line to the fridge so we can have perfectly clear ice. When I first turned the system on I noticed that the new ice cubes weighed less than the old. It was quite noticeable; readily apparent when holding one of each in your hand. Now, our water here is not hard (in fact, it's actually quite soft, and dissolved solids are comparatively low). I have a fairly strong chemistry background and it surprises me that there should be such a comparatively huge difference in weight.

Anyone else noticed this?
