Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Compass Rose - 02-21-2011 I am play N44 Pegasus Bridge and one of my tank units shows having zeros for a Hard and Soft Attack Values. Does anyone have a reason why? Thanks RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Arkan - 02-21-2011 Because it's an engeneer vehicle (AVRE = Armored Vehicle Royal Engeneer) The main gun was short range and only to destroy fortifications and he probably didn't had any machinegun. But if you look better you will see the AVRE unit have a great assault value :-) You can't shot with it but it's a great weapon to support an assault. RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Mr Grumpy - 02-22-2011 I am not 100% sure, but with such a high assault value i would think that Arkan has guessed the reason. ;) RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Compass Rose - 02-22-2011 Thanks for the helpful information. It sure had me stumped! RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Arkan - 02-22-2011 Here is what i found in wikipedia... Churchill AVRE numerous variants. * Was a Churchill Mk III armed with a 290 mm Petard Spigot mortar, its turret was of welded construction * A Churchill Mk IV, which had a cast turret. Post-war, the Churchill AVRE was re-armed with a short barrelled L9A1 165 mm demolition gun which fired a 64 lb (29 kg) HESH round[1] I definitly think that a 290mm Petard Spigot mortar have a 0 hexe range :-) RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Compass Rose - 02-22-2011 Arkan, Thanks for going out of your way to supply the extra information. From the description, it sounds like that tank was a bad-boy! That tank is essentially an assault tank, if there ever was one. Combined with some engineer or infantry units, a 19 assault with a 19 hard target defense is pretty darn tough assault force. :) RE: Unit having a zero Hard & Soft Attack Value? - Gasbag - 02-23-2011 (02-22-2011, 10:55 AM)fastphil Wrote:(02-22-2011, 10:33 AM)Checkmate King 2 Wrote: Arkan, Yeah it is: 79th Armored Division - Hobart's Funnies... |
