Tournament - keepitloki - 03-14-2011 Would anyone be interested in playing a "World Cup 1942" Tournament when 4.5 comes out? There would be a groups stage of 4 teams per group. You would play everyone in your group and the top two teams would qualify to the elimination rounds. Teams would be assigned randomly from a list in order to make it equally unfair and to avoid any fights over who gets to be Germany. Maximum 16 teams. Games scored using SP Score system V.2 Your would record your game against your opponent as per normal with medals awarded for progression. Games 1 - 3 would be during June/July '42. Any thoughts? Further info: All teams will play on the same map each round. The map will change every round and the location will be picked at random from the list in the scenario editor. Could be mountains, could be desert. But you'll know before you make your purchases. Games will be relatively small and quick. 5000 points 25 turns. Purchase restrictions will apply. visibility and air sorties will be random per round. ARTY% will be random 5% 10% or 15%. 1 MMG, Scout, Sniper per Company. All tubes in a battery must be aimed at the same hex. All tubes in a battery must be deployed with a maximum of 1 hex between tubes. No FOO restriction. Possible teams will be: US Army USMC Britain France Germany Russia Canada Italy Romania ANZAC Spain Poland India Japan Thailand Finland RE: Tournament - gabeeg - 03-15-2011 Sounds good, sign me up! RE: Tournament - Gila - 03-15-2011 I would do this as per your rules. I think some may be hesitant with having morter parks grouped so close together and only able to fire on one hex,but that's fine with me:) RE: Tournament - Walrus - 03-15-2011 I would be interested. This will run for a year for the eventual finalists...be prepared to have players dropping out and causing you no end of headaches. I have done exactly this type of tourney here before...SP World Cup it was called...using SPWW2, Red v Green, virtually no restrictions, mirror-sided hand made maps...it was fun...but it took ages to play out and I found that interest dropped off as the players where whittled down to the final 2. Still...kudos to you for having a go bro! If you need any pointers / ideas etc...drop me a mail / pm Chur RE: Tournament - roman - 03-15-2011 Sounds good. Count me .. RE: Tournament - keepitloki - 03-15-2011 Well that's enough for one group so far. Multiples of four will obviously work best. Otherwise we'll have to make it the SP Brier (any curling fans here? my wife's family is obsessed). I will lay out the rules more coherently in a document and post it here as soon as I have time.
