TBF-1C Avenger - Iwo Jim - 03-30-2011 This is an 1/48 Accurate Minatures TBF-1C Avenger RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Walrus - 03-30-2011 Jim! That is just cracking. Super work. Delicate chipping, very good photos showing the excellent pre-shading (I assume) and well worked lightening on the panels. The cockpit looks perfect, as does the bomb bay. US Navy scheme...never easy eh...you have done a superb job with this model. Clap, clap, clap... RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Vesku - 03-30-2011 Amazing details! Respect!! RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Iwo Jim - 03-31-2011 Thanks guys, The Tri-color navy scheme has always been one of my favorites, I think I got a little heavy handed on the pre-shading on the underside of the aircraft, The Accurate Miniatures kits are great kits with a lot of details the only thing I added to this one was the seatbelts I've got a SBD dive bomber I'm going to tackle one of these days RE: TBF-1C Avenger - wigam - 04-01-2011 Thats is spectacular mate. Hats off. I would feel silly to try after seeing this. RE: TBF-1C Avenger - carreteroarturo - 04-09-2011 EXCELENT JOB! I ALWAYS LOVED THOSE PACIFIC WAR PLANES...!!! REGARDS ARTURO BE AWARE! SOME NEW PHOTOS WILL BE POSTED SOON...................................................................... RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Larry Reese - 08-23-2012 Excellent work; the cockpit in particular is amazing. LR RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Antoni Chmielowski - 08-23-2012 Brilliant ! But where did the USN get their pilots to fly such small planes ?? RE: TBF-1C Avenger - Compass Rose - 08-23-2012 I know you didn't just built this one however, since the thread got going again, it is a super sweet looking model! @ Iwo Jim. Do you ever paint up the crew members on your models? BTW, did you ever get around to finishing your SBD dive bomber? @ Toni. I've never been standing next to one however, I believe this airplane is a pretty decent size, when compared to other US planes/fighters. Thanks for sharing Iwo Jim. Thanks Compass, These days it rare even to find a kit that come with a crew, I have a couple of Hasegawa F-4's that came with crew and I put them in, but those kits are 20+ years old, as far as the SBD its still in the box right now I have 1/72 EA-6B on the bench that I hope to complete soon |
