Overview maps - Liebchen - 04-06-2011 Somewhere, I don't recall where, I once found an overview map showing the overall picture of the actual Ekhmu map, from Landshut to Regensberg. It's really cool and helpful. Does anyone know of any other such maps? There are a ton of very good and useful maps to be found. RE: Overview maps - agmoss99 - 04-06-2011 Here's a link to the Eckmuhl Planning Map if that's what you are referring to: http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/updates/up_NapBats/up_NAPBAT.html If you open it in Paint or whatever you can draw arrows on etc to plan your strategy. I use it a lot as at my age I keep forgetting what I intend. It's really useful. (I had forgotten where it came from.) I was wondering if there were any other such maps out there. RE: Overview maps - -72- - 04-07-2011 SDC only has a Waterloo map (and I have to dig up the link to it). I should say, at this time that is all it has, as I have been putting off the Napoleonics' series -mainly because a lot of the maps are huge and I haven't had the time to do them yet. I can't speak for anyone else, but yes I have all of the titles to date, so it is just a matter of getting to it (in some cases I anticipate having to use 2d zoom out in order to get them done -am basing that on my experience with FiW's Quebec map which I think took 150 some odd screen shots to put together -and a lot of Bill Peters' maps I think are bigger than that Que one.). RE: Overview maps - Liebchen - 04-08-2011 Well, know that I certainly appreciate your efforts. RE: Overview maps - agmoss99 - 04-09-2011 Me too! RE: Overview maps - -72- - 04-10-2011 Well I don't know if it is motivation or confusion ( or just about time I got to it...) but I usually use a mix of mods; and Jison gave me permission to use his material as I see fit... it will need some work to apply to some of the other titles (some titles have 2 different hex file sets -so I need to edit the colours for the larger ones). This sort of is along the lines of what you are talking about. A map using the above mod (as well as the initial deployments for the historical Quatre Bras - Ligny scenario from Campaign Waterloo.). When I do get to these in earnest, I will have to do the initial run through using the stock graphics, and then maybe later on will do some using some mods. The Gallery software resizes the thumb so it is a lot grainier than the full sized version. (link below to full sized which is something like 4000 x 3000 px ). http://gallery.hist-sdc.com/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=2661&g2_serialNumber=1 |
