Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - Herr Straße Laufer - 05-03-2011 Oh my! :kill:  HSL RE: Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - Kool Kat - 05-03-2011 Ok Ed... I'll bite :cool2: Reference to that classic Wizard of Oz movie starting (at the time) an unknown kid named Judy Garland who had an incredible singing voice... or "someth'in" else? :chin: BTW... "Over the Rainbow" was nearly cut from the final film! :eek1: RE: Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - Herr Straße Laufer - 05-03-2011 Remember that Shirley Temple was almost picked to be the lead? Along with Buddy Ebson to be the Tin Man. :chin: A lot of "what ifs" in that movie. A true historic classic. They could not make it again in these days. My favorites are the songs, like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHJoj9IqeKg&feature=related HSL RE: Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - Mike Abberton - 05-03-2011 (05-03-2011, 06:13 AM)Herr Straßen Läufer Wrote: A lot of "what ifs" in that movie. Sadly enough, it's only a matter of time before someone tries. :( Mike RE: Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - zap - 05-04-2011 (05-03-2011, 10:24 PM)Mike Abberton Wrote:(05-03-2011, 06:13 AM)Herr Straßen Läufer Wrote: A lot of "what ifs" in that movie. "THE WIZ" (Dianna Ross) and (Micheal Jackson) The muppets also were in a take-off of the Wizard of OZ Your right though, sadly remakes never meet up to the classic. RE: Lions 'n Tigers 'n Bears - Mike Abberton - 05-05-2011 The Wiz was a musical (and an adaptation of the Broadway musical), so it at least had the distinction of being in a different format. Interestingly, the Judy Garland version was not the first movie version of the book, and Wikipedia lists any number of former and future adaptations. Including: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a 2011 CGI film to be directed by John Boorman. D'oh, I hate being right sometimes. Mike |
