HPS Waterloo CD issue - grofaz - 02-23-2012 Hi, I just received my Waterloo CD and immediately patched in the hope that I would not be asked for a CD and have to lug around another disc. Apparently ver. 1.03 does not "fix" this. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. RE: HPS Waterloo CD issue - Compass Rose - 02-23-2012 It is my understanding that any updates that came out in July 2009 or later, don't require cd's in the drive. That would make the following NAP games that can run with no cd to be: Ecknuhl (updated 02/22/10) and Austerlitz (updated 12/14/09) I know that they are in the process of creating updates for the other NAP games however, I do not know which titles will be updated next, or exactly when they will be released. In case you are not aware of it, you did pick a very good title by getting HPS Waterloo. Don't forget to download the free HPS Waterloo expansion pack which contains 83 scenarios, 4 new maps, and modified OOB's which allow players to use company-level units instead of the default battalion/regiment. http://www.hpssims.com/Pages/FreeFiles/List_of_all_download_files.htm#Free%20Files%20Waterloo There are also some really nice 3rd party art mods available for Waterloo: By Blitz member Atle: https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=60132 By Blitz member Volcano Man (over at his web site) which include a sound mod and and unit art mod: http://www.volcanomods.com/index.php And by Ezjax2 (Don't forget to get the 2D and also the 3D downloads which are separate zip files): http://ezjax2.com/HPSMod/index.html RE: HPS Waterloo CD issue - grofaz - 02-23-2012 Thanks Compass for the answer and then some. Waterloo is one of my favorite battles of all time, I visited the site in Belgium some years ago and never fail to stop by Les Invalides and the Emperors tomb every time I go to Paris. As soon as I get up to speed I will stop by and get a PBEM battle going. |
