ATTENTION KOREAN WAR MOD OWNERS!! - Warhorse - 06-05-2012 Upon testing quite a few of my scenarios that deal with the PLA with David Galster and mostly with Hawk Kriegsman, Hawk and I have determined the PLA were too strong. Therefore, I have made a patch for new PLA units, based on a Regular, Green, Veteran scale. I would recommend everyone please stop testing IMMEDIATELY on the Korean War scenarios that deal with the PLA and submit reports. I will release the new units in a few days, we have seen a marked change in how they (PLA) play now, more realistic to rely on numbers as opposed to firepower. They were severely crippled in 1950 by shortages of weapons, having sometimes 1 in 5 men actually possessing a weapon, relying on grenades and acquisition of captured arms. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience, but I want this to be as close to historical as possible, and should have noticed this earlier. My apologies, RE: ATTENTION KOREAN WAR MOD OWNERS!! - Crossroads - 06-06-2012 Mike, There is nothing to apologize for enhancing the Korean Mod even further? Quite the opposite? A great game it is, soon even better? Questions, questions RE: ATTENTION KOREAN WAR MOD OWNERS!! - Warhorse - 06-06-2012 (06-06-2012, 03:36 AM)Battle Kat Wrote: Mike, Thanks Petri, that is indeed my aim!! Hey all, please unzip this into your KWM folder, and overwrite. There is a log in the zip of what got changes essentially all the PLA infantry were just plain too strong. Combined with the unique Human Wave ability, most scenario's were finding the UN sitting in a prison camp, scratching their heads, saying, what the F just happened!!! These units have showed to be much more realistic in testing, any scenario's with them ideally should be modified to contain about a reduction to 25% of existing units being regulars (the default, which I kept in), the rest should be the Green units. However, if you don't want to, the existing rifle platoon is reduced in firepower already, so it will most likely be ok. Again, sorry for yet another update, but this is what is so important about testing!!! Here is the file-http://dl.dropbox.com/u/58654449/New%20PLA.zip Enjoy, and happy gaming!! |
