Good team game that is unknown - Armored Inferno - 09-05-2012 This one is unusual. In the scenario listings on the Blitz, it shows as "Bitva v udoli Liry". The game files are named "Italy44.xxx". However in the SCN file it shows the scenario title as "Boj v udoli Liry", and hence in the West Front scenarios it will show up that way as well. The scene description is not in English, further clouding the picture. Okay, so what about the scene? Well, it's Liri Valley in Italy and pits the UK vs the Germans. There are 4 battle groups on each side, very evenly distributed. Thus it lends itself to team play (or a 2 man game). It's only 20 turns and plays well. The map and objectives make for a mirrored image of each other, but flipped, so the quest for objectives is symmetrical for each side, with the Brits having the advantage of first move but the Germans having the longer ranged guns. Tank counts are similar and there is enough infantry to matter, but it's more of an armored engagement (except once you get into the urban areas). The game is really a wide open battle that can easily end in a draw unless one side or the other makes a powerful push while still tending to its defenses. The one piece that makes it strange is a very generous amount of smoke for each side. I am currently well into a battle vs Dawags in this one and it's really fun. We each have good offensives under way while scratching and clawing in other areas. The map has some great challenges built into it. I highly recommend you give it a try. See the link below.... https://www.theblitz.club/scenarios/Campaign-Series/Bitva-v-udoli-Liry/action=scenario_details&sid=830&ladder=2 The scene description is in Czech. Over the river and its tributaries leading large many roads and bridges (destructible), and fords.
