New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Warhorse - 04-25-2013 Hey folks, Repel the bolshevik! is now up in the EF H2H testing area, if a few lads wouldn't mind testing it out for me? 14 August, 1920 [Lwow area, Ukraine] : [H2H] [HISB] [BB]: During the Polish-Soviet War of 1920 the city of Lwów (modern Lviv, Ukraine) was attacked by the forces of Alexander Ilyich Yegorov. Since mid-June 1920 the 1st Cavalry Army of Semyon Budyonny was trying to reach the city from the north and east. At the same time Lwów was preparing the defense. The inhabitants raised and fully equipped three regiments of infantry and two regiments of cavalry as well as constructed defensive lines. The city was defended by an equivalent of three Polish divisions aided by one Ukrainian infantry division. Finally after almost a month of heavy fighting on August 16 the Red Army crossed the Southern Bug River and, reinforced by additional 8 divisions of the so called Red Cossacks, started an assault on the city. The fighting occurred with heavy casualties on both sides, but after three days the assault was halted and the Red Army retreated. With the crushing defeat of main forces of the Red Army in the battle of Warsaw, and the Polish victories at Komarów at Zadwórze, Russian forces were forced to retreat from Lwów. For the heroic defense with large units of locally raised volunteers the city was awarded with the Virtuti Militari medal on 11 November 1920. This action is just a part of this battle, a few days earlier, when the volunteers, stationed at outlying villages, try to repel advance columns of the 1st Konarmiya Army, buying Lwow some time.[No EA, VV] Thanks in advance!! RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Warhorse - 05-01-2013 Anyone???!!!! RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Big Ivan - 05-01-2013 Hey Mike, Reel me in babe! You got one half of a test team! I'll give it a test for ya. All we need is someone else to step up! "I don't think there are any halftracks in this one so the field is wide open!" Cheers! John aka Ivan the Big RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Crossroads - 05-01-2013 I'd suggest you post to main forum too. I'd loveto participate but am totallybusy at the mo... RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Warhorse - 05-02-2013 Thanks John!! I'll try to get an opponent for ya!! Appreciate it! RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Warhorse - 05-03-2013 Hell, wanna give it a go with me John? I was hoping someone would step up, but I haven't played it at all as the Poles, and they defend, would you try it out as the Bolshevik invaders?! If yes, please download from the H2H area, and I'll register our game. Just remember, arty is direct fire only in this game, unless specified by scenario design, there are some indirect fire types, but the game was designed that way to portray the archaic targeting methods. RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Big Ivan - 05-04-2013 OK Mike, Got it downloaded. Interesting idea about the artillery and fire control. If I remember correctly radio in particular FM radio was not around quite yet in force so one could not get on the horn and call in fire support. I think you had to use AM radio and it was probably loaded with commercials! Anyway look forward to testing this one, I'll get us started while you log the game. Thanks Ivan The Big RE: New scenario for EF/FB-Testing now open!! - Warhorse - 05-05-2013 Turn is off to you, good hunting!! |
