The Korean War 1950-53 with additional house rule - migace - 01-29-2014

In my opinion UN's bombers are too powerful.
So I suggest one more house rule in addition to existing house rules.
That is 'UN should not blow bridge in north of initial border by air units'.
I hope this rule can help to adjust balance of this fine scenario.
I'll play any side.

And why is that so? Because it's bad for the North Koreans and their patrons? There's a scene in "Liar, Liar!" - Objection, Your Honour! - And on what assumption? - Because it's devastating to my case!" That sort of stuff.
The airpower in particular and the UN firepower in general were devastating, the problem was to bring that to bear successfully to make the most of it which the Chinese in particular were denying with their camouflage skills and the custom to redeploy at night. The battle at Wonju in Feb '51 was won by the skin o' their teeth as a spotter plane saw the two out of the four divisions making for their assembly point before the final main Chinese effort and they were caught in the open and interdicted by a few dozens of medium and heavy guns from X Corps which resulted in some 5 thousand Chinese dead only, the wounded and incapacitated a fair greater deal.

I did and am still doing strategic bombing of the North and only rivers parallel to roads should not be blown according to a well known rule of thumb.

I'm up for a game if you are still interested, pretty new to PBEM but getting some practice in with a couple of games on the go at the moment. I'd love to try this out against a human as have done it a few times vs Elmer.

Cheers,

Iain
