HPS or JTS? - tbridges - 09-10-2014 OK, I'm officially confused. I want to purchase Moscow'41. I've always been loyal to HPS but JTS has the game for $10 bucks less with an instant download. Do I need to buy the HPS version for $50 and apply their updates if most of the guys I'll be playing have the HPS version of the game? Or can I save the $10 and take advantage of the instant download from JTS? Will the JTS version (no updates) be compatible with the updated HPS version? Tom RE: HPS or JTS? - Ricky B - 09-10-2014 The versions should always be the same. The only potential exception is when one, typically JTS, is updated a few days at most ahead of the other. Rick RE: HPS or JTS? - Compass Rose - 09-10-2014 I would highly suggest the JTS version over any of the HPS versions. The updates (JTS and HPS) are originally created by JTS. The JTS versions of games are updated first. Some time later, the HPS version of the same game is also updated. As we are currently seeing in the NAP series, once a JTS version update is released, it is taking at least 1-2+ weeks for the same update to be released by HPS. Also, saving $10 dollars and getting the preferred version, is a win-win in my book. Bottom line, everything starts and stops with JTS, so that is the version I would go with. RE: HPS or JTS? - jim pfleck - 09-10-2014 And, in hopes of adding further clarity, the version sold by JTS will be the most recent version (i.e. the most recent patch), so you will not have to worry about the HPS patches at all. RE: HPS or JTS? - tbridges - 09-10-2014 Thanks everyone, appreciate the help. I'll download the JTS version tonight! Tom RE: HPS or JTS? - tbridges - 09-11-2014 One more question as long as I have all you experts here. Can I make a copy of the downloaded game so I can reinstall it if I need to? Is it copy protected? RE: HPS or JTS? - jim pfleck - 09-11-2014 Yes, you can copy it. I keep a copy of the download file on my computer hard drive and a backup on my external hard drive. The copy protection is activated when you install the game. RE: HPS or JTS? - Compass Rose - 09-11-2014 When you purchase your game from JTS, you will click on a link to download the game. The file you download, you will need to save, in case you need to reinstall the game on that computer or on a different computer. You are able to load the game on a maximum of two computers. Any time you attempt to activate the game, you will need to be connected to the internet. You will also need to save the game serial number that is issued to you. RE: HPS or JTS? - tbridges - 09-11-2014 Thanks again guys RE: HPS or JTS? - Deturk - 09-14-2014 or you could go here and get it for less than $30 http://yhst-12000246778232.stores.yahoo.net/pacasechtifr.html |
