AI plan: preplanned artillery strikes? - Steiner14 - 02-21-2015 Does anyone know how the AI executing preplanned artillery strikes can be done (also smoke)? RE: AI plan: preplanned artillery strikes? - A Canadian Cat - 02-22-2015 In the 3.0 manual from CMBN (it will be in other 3.x manuals too but might be in a different page) There is a section titled "Support Targets" on page 103 that describes it. Here is what I know from experience. You can only plot one set of support missions and they will be executed for all AI plans. There is not specific smoke choice according to the manual but I have seen the AI use smoke but I have no idea what makes it decide to do that. It only is for an initial bombardment. Frankly it is not very flexible. RE: AI plan: preplanned artillery strikes? - Steiner14 - 02-22-2015 Thanks. It's easy and convenient: No need to assign observers or HQs or AI plans to the artillery units. Under AI simply SUPPORT TARGET is chosen and the area painted on the map. The available parameters vary between destroy to suppress or smoke.
