Black Sea patch 1.03 released - PoorOldSpike - 05-02-2015 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2293&Itemid=587 It's 845.4 Mb and only took me 4 minutes to download to desktop, but I'm going to hold off installing it into the game until I know what this means exactly as I don't want to botch up my ongoing saved games- BF quote- "Save games from earlier versions ARE COMPATIBLE, provided that you save your turn-based games in the COMMAND phase (not the replay phase) before updating." RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - raz_atoth - 05-02-2015 For those of you who don't yet know the proper procedure of upgrading the turns: 1) Open the file with your current version (1.01) 2) Replay the action, plot your moves and SAVE the game. DON'T press the 'Go' red button as you'd normally do. 3) Close the game and apply the patch (1.03) 4) Open the file you saved using 1.03 5) Click the Red Button RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - PoorOldSpike - 05-02-2015 Thanks Raz, I've got half-a-dozen games going, so do me and my oppos all have to patch up at the same time? I mean, if i've patched, I can't carry on playing with anybody who's not patched can I? RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - A Canadian Cat - 05-05-2015 Yes and Yes So to mitigate that, you can have both installed at once and play some games on the old version and some on the new as your opponents upgrade or the games end. Here is how: 1) Copy your existing install (the Program Files directory *not* the My Documents directory) 2) Rename the copy to show it is the patched version (e.g. CMBS103) 3) Install the patch (make darn sure that you manually point to the <install path>CMBS103 directory 4) Play them both However you need to pay attention to this one problem: Given the new location of the Game Files directory on Windows your new version of the game will be able to see the .ema files form the old version so when playing a game with the 1.03 patched version make sure you don't try to play any of the games from the old version. It is yucky but doable. RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - PoorOldSpike - 05-08-2015 Well after a few hiccups and restarts all my ongoing games seem to be working ok after patching to 1.03, or are they? For example games sometimes freeze during play and I have to switch off the power and reboot, i don't know if the patch is causing it or whether my PC is on the blink. And GazNZ has just told me that his tank and Tunguska refused to area-fire in a game, that happened once with my tank too. So I'm wondering if anybody else is noticing odd things since patching? RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - A Canadian Cat - 05-09-2015 Hummm. Not so far. I have two games going that were started in 1.03 and two that were upgraded. So far no issues. I'll watch for that area fire thing though. RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - PoorOldSpike - 05-10-2015 Aargh, me and Raz just had to abandon a 1.03 game because some of his tanks main gun ammo dropped to zero and near-zero for no reason, and one of his tank MG ammo readouts went to a minus figure! RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - raz_atoth - 05-10-2015 Yeah, quite strange how at the beginning of the turn and during the turn the ammo was correctly listed. As soon as the timer went to 0 and 'Done' was shown on the screen, the ammo count got screwed up for all of my 3 tanks. Watch this video in HD & full-screen and pay attention to the ammo box :) RE: Black Sea patch 1.03 released - A Canadian Cat - 05-12-2015 Raz that is Bizarre! Do you have that turn file? I noticed something odd right away. Your M1 has 0 rounds of 0mm ammo even when the other counts look OK but that is just strange. |
