Weather Conditions - Fhil - 05-25-2015 Hello guys, would like to ask a question regarding the weather system. If playing with Programmed Weather option ON, does this mean the weather comes based on the percentage in the weather.dat file, or it is the opposite, it is simply set for every day?? It´s not clear to me now, as I´m playing a game with Programmed Weather ON, the probability for the next day was 100% but there´s no Storm at 02:00, which is the first turn of the new day. I´m almost sure that it should be storm now, as 100% is 100%, no chance not having it right? RE: Weather Conditions - ComradeP - 05-25-2015 I don't know how it works in older titles, but in Moscow '42 if the storm percentage is 100% in the weather.dat file and Programmed weather is on, there will always be a storm starting on the midnight turn. If the scenario starts on a certain day, and the storm chance is set to 100% for that day, it won't necessarily start in a storm, however. It seems the starting weather can be set to not match the weather.dat file values for that day. RE: Weather Conditions - Fhil - 05-25-2015 Actually, it´s a game of Normandy I´m doing the AAR from. The only other thing that comes to my mind is that the opponent doesn´t have the Weather DAT file in his folder, could this be possible to play without it? Would the game crash or not? Filip RE: Weather Conditions - ComradeP - 05-25-2015 That seems odd, as it would mean you're essentially not playing the same version of the scenario, as weather is a part of it. I don't know if Normandy '44 came with a weather.dat file, or if it was added through an alt version. Not having a weather.dat file doesn't crash the game, you just get randomized weather and no forecasts. I'm guessing older games in the series didn't have one at first. Panzer Battles has checksum messages to see if the players are using the same files, I'm not sure how that process works in PzC or if it even checks for the weather.dat file. RE: Weather Conditions - Fhil - 05-25-2015 I´ve asked my opponent if he´s got the file in his folder, we´ll see. There a 100% forecast of a storm for the next day as well, I´ll let you know what happens. Meanwhile, thanks for the help! RE: Weather Conditions - Fhil - 05-26-2015 The mystery was solved, quite simple - we are using different weather files each Never though about such thing, but it very well explains the situation.
