General PzC Game Questions - Fog of War - 07-13-2015 Been away from the PzC games for awhile, and lost most of my collected Documentation in lifes potholes. Looking for the PDF of Rickey B`s " attacking fortfied hexes " or titles something like that, brought out years back for use in Minsk `41 against Pillboxes & Bunkers. Was on the old ( now gone ? ) Pz. Campaigns site. Don`t see it here. General questions please: Have all the manuals in the PzC series been brought up to date with the latest game upgrades ? Need to print one out. Which would you chose to get an old PzC guy into the WW I games, France `14 or East Prussia`14 ? RE: General PzC Game Questions - Volcano Man - 07-13-2015 (07-13-2015, 04:33 AM)Fog of War Wrote: Which would you chose to get an old PzC guy into the WW I games, France `14 or East Prussia`14 ? I recommend both. But really it all depends. F14 has maneuver, but EP14 probably has more of it, and is smaller. F14 is massive, but does have smaller/medium sized scenarios. F14 has more nationalities (five) while EP14 has less (three). EP14 is more of a small better force versus a larger more clumsy one, while F14 is pretty much a straight up brawl of equals (more or less). F14 does have many more scenarios though, because being the first game in the series we wanted to go "all out" with it to start interest, and because we didn't feel like someone would want to pay for a separate Race-to-Sea + Ypres game. So, not sure what your cup o' tea is, but both of them can be played together in a grand campaign so if you like one then you will no doubt want to get the other too - they do compliment each other I mean. RE: General PzC Game Questions - Compass Rose - 07-13-2015 The attacking fortified hexes PDF you are looking for is included in the documentation found in the Mius'43 Demo. http://johntillersoftware.com/Demos.php RE: General PzC Game Questions - Ricky B - 07-13-2015 (07-13-2015, 04:33 AM)Fog of War Wrote: Been away from the PzC games for awhile, and lost most of my collected Documentation in lifes potholes.Hey Fog of War, I have attached the doc to this message. I will check around about adding it back, or at least making it accessible as many of these old docs are still on the server but the links are gone. Thanks Rick RE: General PzC Game Questions - Fog of War - 07-14-2015 Thanks Rick ! I think making those old game play DOCs available will benefit all us old PzC guys returning and the many new players showing up here. RE: General PzC Game Questions - Fog of War - 07-14-2015 Thanks for the advice on the games Mr. G., I was leaning toward EP`14 and looking at screen shots at the JTS site. I am curious about the units box insignia flag colors for Imperial Russia in EP`14 being a red-blue-white roundel ? Surely it should be the old black double- head eagle on a yellow/gold field ? Not trying to be snarky here, it seems curious unless I`m missing something.... RE: General PzC Game Questions - Mr Grumpy - 07-14-2015 I might be mistaken, but I think the guy who did the artwork wanted to have a single standard Allied and Central Powers insignia to cover all the nations in those groups whatever the title. So even if a future title did not have any German formations included the artwork would still show the "German" style cross. to represent a nation within the Central Powers grouping. If I am wrong I hope Ed can correct me. RE: General PzC Game Questions - Volcano Man - 07-14-2015 Well, regarding the red, white, blue flag with yellow field and gold eagle in the game, it was indeed the flag in use in 1914. The other one, with gold, black and white was actually no longer in use at that time (phased out in late 1800s IIRC), at least as far as my research could discover - even though it has been used in other 1914 games. Believe me, I studied this topic many times during development so I wanted to get it right. But perhaps you just are referring to the use of the roundel in general? If so, we simply decided that roundels are cool (I have always liked them) so we try to have the aircraft roundel of the period for the nationality in the "blank box" and turn pop up dialog just to have more symbols and insignia from the period (flags are used on the objectives).
