Civil War games - AstroBlues - 09-10-2015 I have been watching the Civil War series on PBS and it has gotten me wanting to play some games on it. I would like to know if the John Tiller Civil War game on Matrix is very different from the Civil war games on the JTS store and would there be any recommendations for any JTS or Matrix game on this subject. Ron RE: Civil War games - KG_RangerBooBoo - 09-11-2015 I would recommend the JTS games myself. The JTS/HPS games are set to allow defensive fire during the opposing players move. In the Matrix version half the Reb army could march by in the line of sight of one of your batteries and if then ended the turn out of that line of sight you didn't get to fire at them. In the JTS version they will fire at that column, not every unit and not every time, depends upon the secret background calculations but it will have that chance. The JTS games all have a campaign version where you can make a decision on how you want your side to proceed and compares it with the other sides decision and put you in a battle. The battle is fought out and at the end you are given another set of options based upon the outcome and you do it all over again with the losses carrying over from each battle, with a small percentage returning. Usually a lot more scenarios as well. I'm sure others could add more reasons but these are just some off the op of my head. RE: Civil War games - AstroBlues - 09-11-2015 Thank you for the reply. I will take a look. Ron |
