German alternate fuel for tanks - including wood burning ! - Jobu88 - 05-12-2017 More proof that you're never too old to learn something new. Never heard of this in 45+ years as a WWII enthusiast. Alternate fuel systems for German tanks in the various tank schools. Used to conserve precious fuel for combat units. Apparently some vehicles across nazi occupied europe were converted to wood burning. Remember my dad mentioned riding in one while hiding with the underground during June/July '44 in Holland and how ingenious it seemed to him. Forget model of vehicle.. just it was an older one.
