Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Kool Kat - 09-14-2017 Gents: Good to see many of the "old gang" still hanging around here... Shout out to John, Dave, Ed, Mike, and others! These days I only lurk on the CS Forums, but spend most of my time at the virtual water cooler over in the TOC Forums. Gaming Front I "discovered" the John Tiller Panzer Campaigns and Modern Campaigns Series and currently own 13 titles. Most of my games are World War 2 era, but I also play several modern titles (Warsaw Pact vs. NATO); Fulda Gap '85, North German Plain '85, Danube Front '85, and Korea '85. Who would have guessed that dropping chemical ordnance on enemy unit stacks and brewing up traveling armor and mechanized battalions with airstrikes and roaming helos could be so much fun? I try to keep 2-4 PBeM games underway and have found that I can usually count on having 1 or more game turns waiting in my inbox when I login in the mornings. I also wrote a couple of strategy and tactics articles: Panzer Campaigns --> https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=70089 Modern Campaigns --> https://www.theblitz.club/message_boards/showthread.php?tid=70525 Home and Work Fronts. My wife and I moved to Clarksville, VA. (Population 1,200) Nov. 2016 where I work out of my home office. Lake view, no traffic, little crime, no commute, and no worries! So guys, I just wanted to shoot up a flare and let my CS peeps know that I am alive, well and still kicking! I do miss the CS banter and email correspondence, and may entertain the occasional CS match in the future. Hope y'all are doing well and that life is not beating the stuffing out of you? Keep the faith guys! RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Herr Straße Laufer - 09-14-2017 Good to have you stop in Mike. Don't be a stranger. But, do what your heart leads you to do. HSL RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Scud - 09-15-2017 Thanks for the update, Mike, and you're always welcome in this corner of the bar. In fact the Mike West stool hasn't been sat on since you left and not just because we broke it, either. So pull up the pieces and stay awhile. I played one of your scenarios recently and couldn't help thinking of your unabashed plugs whenever you loaded up a new one. I miss that. Don't be a stranger, Dave RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Warhorse - 09-15-2017 Hey Mike!!! RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Kool Kat - 09-15-2017 Thanks gents! "Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name..." "... and they're always glad you came..." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KtAgAMzaeg Think I may have to "reassemble" the "Mike West" bar stool and stay awhile. Here's to you gents! RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Scud - 09-16-2017 The official announcement was made on the TOC forum, since that's your new home, but I think it apropos to include it here too: Attention to Orders! It is my honor to award my friend Kool Kat the Keeper of the Torch award, for his continued financial support of the Blitz!
Thank you for helping to preserve the long term mission of the Blitz which helps bring gamers together in friendship on the virtual battlefield! Nice job, Mike! Scud
Thanks again, bud.
RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Herr Straße Laufer - 09-16-2017 Thanks Mike! HSL RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Big Ivan - 09-16-2017 Hi Mike, Glad to see your back! Brings to mind our "Bloody Lane" fight with Rising Sun's Hurricane on Biak scenario. Man we chewed up a lot of troops in that bad boy contest. Stacked like cord wood. Cheers my man! John RE: Checking in with my CS Peeps! - Kool Kat - 09-18-2017 Gents: I am glad to help support the Blitz! So many good games and comradeship with fellow players! |
