protected hexes - lezgo killemall - 04-07-2019 are they constant or do they disappear after all reinforcements for that specific hex have arrived? RE: protected hexes - MichaelT - 04-08-2019 I think they remain. But will only activate, that is route or kill enemies, if friendly reinforcements arrive. So after the last reinforcements for those protected hexes arrive, even though they remain shaded, they will have no effect on play. RE: protected hexes - Ricky B - 04-08-2019 Protected hexes are actually tied to a specific reinforcement rather than a hex. So there could be units arriving at a hex without a protected value. As noted the impact is when reinforcements arrive, but only if that reinf has a protected setting. The shading shows the coverage of all remaining reinforcements, so if reinfs have different protected ranges, and the remaining protected range is smaller for a specific hex, the shading could shrink - but it would never grow, unless strategy choice reinforcements can have protected hex settings. I believe they can and so that could give away a strategy choice, if so! But the shaded hexes would only show from a selected strategy after it is selected - prior to that, the units would not be in the list of reinforcements and wouldn't show protected hexes.
