No Detached Melee Optional Rule - von Mohr - 07-12-2020

Hello Gentlemen,

Could someone please explain how the No Detached Melee Rule. Specifically, how does the rule determine if a unit is detached? Does a unit have to be within command radius of both brigade commander and  does that brigade commander need to be within division commander radius? How far up the command chain does it have to go?

Lastly, where can I find a written explanation of of the new optional rules in the new Waterloo 1.08 update?

     Thanks, von Mohr

The documentation is a hair unclear on this, but the short and easy version is

A unit is detached when it is outside the command range of its brigade leader.

The Brigade Leader's connection to his upper level commands is a separate issue.
