RE: Napoleonic Battles 4.02 preview - phoenix - 09-07-2022 Anyone know where I can find a write up of the changes in 4.02, in terms, in particular, of how they affect cavalry? Is the manual in the folder up to date? I haven't played a Nappy game for a while and things seem a bit diff in 4.02. Like charging. Can't execute/finish a charge except in melee phase, it seems, for example - but then you melee at a charge in any direction (not just straight ahead?). Various other things. Horses now seem super costly/valuable, such that it hasn't thus far, in my experiments, been worth charging any infantry at all (in line or column, I mean) except skirmishers. But how do you switch off the separate melee phase? I couldn't' find an option for that. Thanks. RE: Napoleonic Battles 4.02 preview - phoenix - 09-07-2022 Oh. Forget the last post. I read the manual!! Always useful. Everything seems to be explained there, incl the optional melee rule. The tactics section - which I'd never before read - is also to be recommended! Thanks. |
