Bulge '44: Should the British cross the Meuse? - dto - 11-22-2022

Playing PBEM in Bulge '44 Alt Campaign. Is there a specific rule that the British shouldn't cross the Meuse? I seem to remember seeing that in one of the campaigns.

My personal feeling is that especially in an Alt Campaign, where the Germans can do better than history (like taking St. Vith early), then the Brits should be able to cross the Meuse. However, if the consensus is that this would sharply tilt play balance against the Germans, then I would prefer not to use it.

If the Brits are not fixed and no agreed upon house rule, then they are free to use any way you want. But, the house rule should be agreed upon before you start the game.

Agreed, if the designer intended the Brits to stay in position then there are design tools to achieve that, so you can move unfixed units in any manner you decide.

However if you and your opponent feel this is not to your liking then of course you can agree on a house rule to prevent this, as OJW says just agree this before the game starts.  Wink
