When your game is complete please post in this thread the handles of the pairings and First Side score.

The solution, however, did not suit Hitler, for whom Kharkov, as the fourth biggest city in the Soviet Union, had already become a symbol of prestige, and on 13th February he again passed a strict order to Army Detachment Lanz, through Army Group B, to hold Kharkov at all costs.

To make sure everyone is using the same version: updating to 4.05.1 is mandatory before starting round 3 according to tournament rules.

RE: Winter Operations - Kharkov '43: Round 3 - Arkan - 12-30-2024

Hi everyone,

I'm starting to play this scenario as axis and it look like my fixed units have a 0% chance of release. Is that normal or i have some kind of bug?

I believe they are (0%T) which indicates they are released on any part of the organization being spotted

RE: Winter Operations - Kharkov '43: Round 3 - Ricky B - 12-30-2024

And my take is they won't release unless the German line falls apart. Like if maybe the ai is playing them.

I made some tests and i was only able to release the sicherung division. The LSSAH tank didnt released even if the soviets take all the 100 VP and 250VP objective points

That would be correct as I assume the rule works on HQs, and since the regimental HQ is stacked with the SS armor, the entire "unit" is in the same hex and will only release when that hex is spotted.  I agree with Ricky's assessment, they won't release unless you're already well and truly screwed.

RE: Winter Operations - Kharkov '43: Round 3 - HMCS Rosthern - 01-02-2025

Please note that I updated the Round 3 end date. It is now Friday, February 21, 2025 2359PST. The standard length of a round is 3 days * number of turns + 10 days (3 * 15 +10 = 55).

RE: Winter Operations - Kharkov '43: Round 3 - Deturk - 01-03-2025

I have a Kharkov '43 team game going and we haven't updated to latest patch.  Not into multiple versions of same game.

So, I'll be pulling out of tournament.

Sorry, thanks for putting on tourney.

RE: Winter Operations - Kharkov '43: Round 3 - ComradeP - 01-03-2025

A close finish, a Draw at 554 points. Removing an entrenched stack from a village after isolating it takes time and I ran out of turns. A fine delaying action by Partizanka.

The SS units in the northern part of the map are depleted. My units are in a reasonable shape in terms of strength and Fatigue.

I let the tank brigades rest on day 1 to recover/replace losses and shake off Fatigue.

The initial Fatigue is much less of an issue compared to 4.04 due to the decreased Fatigue accumulation.  On the other side of the coin, breaking down battalions into companies is now more viable for the Axis even with plenty of Soviet guns around.

The D quality units were more reliable due to the Morale check changes.

Visibility dropped to 1 after the opening turns, which made it difficult to figure out where the German line was.

Fixed units highlighted in the screenshot.
