107mm Soviet "Arty Spotter" 1945
Why is it that I cannot find the 107mm "arty spotter" in the CMBB 1945 MARCH kits?? It appears to be a 4 tube mortar artillery spotter... but I for the life of me cannot find it anywhere!!

Does anyone have any information on this unit???

Cheers!

The 107 only appears in cmbb through 1941 mate, so presumably it was ditched by the beginning of 42.

So how the heck does it appear in a March 1945 quick battle?

Cheers!

Although it was dropped from the rest of the Army at the end of 1941, Mountain troops apparently continued to use it throughout the war..

Okay, that explains it... good buy for 98 points conscript, while the 82mm is 94.... and your right, it is only found when you have the infantry selected to "Mountain" troops".

I'm not sure how many people know this, but there are often different special unit picks when different infantry formations are selected.

The most notable one that I can state off the top of my head is the 1944 Airborne troops for the US in CMAK, they get a really cool little 75mm howitzer for dirt cheap that the other infantry divisions don't get.

Cheers!

The word 'mountain' in this website extract gave me the clue -

The 107 mm Model 1938 Mountain Mortar was a scaled-up version of the 82 mm Model 1937 produced especially for Russian mountain units....
