Those damn German Tanks

c_Question Mark  Those damn German Tanks
I asked this question a year or so ago, but didn't get the answer I wanted. Perhaps because there is no definitive answer?

What is the best method of addressing those freaking German tanks?

In many battles versus the Russian tanks, it seems to be a matter of the German's superior firing distance, so ambush and other proper placement for shoot and scoot seems in order.

However, versus the American tanks, it's another matter all together and this is were I totally fail.

I once had a King Tiger completely surrounded by American armor and suffered very little damage as I cleared a path for extraction.

Thank you for any suggestions,

Pat

RE: Those damn German Tanks
For me Griz - you need to get real up close and personal with those bastards! Also try to get the angles or rear side shots as well....smoke your advance or get your spotters working for you to scout the enemy's positions or march's. There is nothing like seeing a Tiger II go down!

One other thing is to have other units/tanks or recon units stick their necks out to absorb the opp fire from the Hun's - then move in with your boys and at least try for the disrupts.....

Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting this. I love to read about different tactics that people use in this game. Keep 'em coming! Haha.

RE: Those damn German Tanks
Thank you Tiger 88.

I've noticed that most of my opponents put a PzVIB (for example) on some elevated position with plenty of visability, making it very hard to approach. However, the smoke idea has some definite merit and I will try that.

The sacrifice or "saving hand" is also worthy of note.

Thank you once again.
