Any SF Bay Area members?
Guys,
I'm stuck in beautiful San Fran with nothing but time on my hands, waiting for some car repairs before I head back north to Alaska in a day or so. Been here since last Friday.
I was wondering if we have any club members that live in the area?
Maybe you could recommend some good/reasonable restaurants not to be missed; and/or some fun things to do and see around here. I haven't been in this part of CA since the early 70s during my college days at Oregon (spring break trip down to SF).
I'm staying in the south bay area (Sunnyvale), but have a rental car and can travel into the city.
Thanks in advance,
Mark~Thor

Maine is famous for good food......esp at Frau von Earlmman's table :-)

LOL Randy. If I had my car, I would consider it. :P Have had enough time given how long I've been stranded here. :(
I love Maryland and the civil war stuff historical sites back there.
Nice Southern . . . uh . . . Northern . . . uh Southern :conf: . . .hospitality . . . . ;)
Thanks for the offer. Next time back there, I'll buy you dinner (or maybe a picknic at Sharpsburg . . . .).

Then you'll have to stop outside Philadelphia on your way, in a little town called Lansdale?
I'll point out Maine to you. It's to the left! ;)
I'll have a bear hug waitin' for you, my brother! :smoke:

Damn, looks like I went to the wrong side of the country. Thought we had some Blitz brothers in these parts too.
Ed, next time near Philly, I'll definately swing by. I appeciated your help in directing me to the Aberdine proving grounds last time I was back east -- and that was a great side trip.
Keif, Columbus is a beautiful city. Loved it when I was there about 26 years ago. One of the cleanest, friendliest places I have been.

Car is fixed. Heading north tomorrow.
Stopping by in Oregon on my way back up to Alaska to see my 79 year old dad for father's day.
Not always easy to drop by from 2000 miles away.
Will be out of email contact for about another week, moves to follow.
