Altered Scenario question

Altered Scenario question
Hi All,

I played a PBEM called CMBB-Ponyri Express, by Jeff Weatherspoon. The original scenario is located here at The Blitz, to post results to...

When my opponent asked to swap sides and play again, I declined, as the Soviet side in the original is largely locked-in (regarding fortifications, specifically), which from my perspective, took away from the FOW & fun factor.

I contacted Jeff about his scenario regarding altering and posting it at The Blitz.
His response, dated 10-21-2008:

"Hey Ken,

Feel free to alter any of my scenarios as you like. I'm glad some folks are still playing them! Unfortunately I no longer have CM installed on my system. The last stuff i did for BFC was at this year's CMvention, recording the artillery calls for fire for the new CMSF patch.

Best,

jw"

My question is... Now that I've altered the scenario, can/should this be up-loaded to the H-2-H play-testing area...?

or... should this be play-tested informally (as it is a Huge scenario, approximately 20K points total).

Ultimately, I would like it posted to The Blitz for results reporting.

Below, are the notes I've added to the Briefing Overall for the altered scenario.

Cheers,
Ken

***Alternative Scenario Design Notes for Ponyri Express***

The following version is posted with kind permission from Mr. Jeff
Weatherspoon, per e-mail communication dated 10-21-2008.

The following edits to the original scenario, "Ponyri Express",
were made with the premise that it will be played "H-2-H", in
mirrored games (each opponent is playing Soviets and Axis sides,
simultaneously, thus having almost 100 percent intelligence of
the opposing sides at start).

However, the game is hopefully playable as a stand-alone PBEM,
as well...

1. All Soviet units are Un-Locked and have full ammo (except for
off-map artillery FO's, who are left with original settings).

2. All Soviet fortifications un-locked.

3. Soviet T-34's have all canister rounds removed and replaced
with H.E. and A.P. rounds.

4. Soviet zone(s) moved slightly forward and consolidated into
one zone.

5. Soviet FO entering as reinforcement now starts on-map.

6. Minor terrain edits in German zone to screen initial deploy-
ment and reinforcement spawning sites.

7. Minor terrain edits in rear of Soviet zone.

8. Game turn-limit changed from 65+ to 55+ (variable) turns.
Thus, the time limit has been shortened approximately 10-turns.

9. Some Axis infantry units given full ammo load-out.

10. Due to the relatively small German set-up zone, a ban or
"Gentleman's Agreement" to exclude Soviet first-turn, planned
fire-missions within 200 yd of the German map-edge should be
considered and decided by mutual agreement, at-start.

11. Further notes to be added after play-testing.

RE: Altered Scenario question
Hey Ken - I would just register it in the scenario DB as "Ponyri Express 2" or something like that and put your notes in the briefings.
