Well I wasn't going to answer since I don't know, but in the meantime hitting alt-tab can at least get you to other open apps without having to save and quit the game. You'll get a window with all open apps, folders, etc., keep holding alt while you "tab" to the app you want up and release. Do the same thing to get back to the game.
I know it's not the same, but does that help at all?
