Flare for Dog Soldier
Howdy,

The email didn't show up in my box. Can you try sending again?

[email protected]

Thanks

That is where it was sent. I sent it again after seeing your post. Be sure to white list my email at the blitz. A lot of spammers spoof my email here. At the old site my email was easy for bots to find in the officers list. Check your SPAM folder too.

Still hasn't shown itself. I already make a habit of checking my spam folder as sometimes game turns go there even after several go to inbox. Maybe send me a Private Message with your email address and let me try and send one to you. then you hit reply and see if we can make the connection that way.

RE: Flare for Dog Soldier
Mark,

I received your email and responded to it immediately yesterday. Did you receive my response?

I also received back my original email sent on 2/10/10. The error reported is an smtp 421, which, if I understand this correctly means the mail server at your end was too busy to be bothered with delivering my message to you. This error should indicate a transient problem. If the second message got through, then we are OK and I will try again. In short, it could be I have to knock more often to get a response from your email server.

Anyone reading this thread who is more knowledgeable about email errors sent by mailer daemons, please chime in as I am only an amateur in this area.

Bottom line, I can PM you, Mark, the exact text of the returned email error messages. You can then send those on to your tech support at your ISP and see if they can unclog the pipes.

RE: Flare for Dog Soldier
Re the 421 code, Brian, you got the gist of it, although it really doesn't mean the destination server was busy so much as couldn't be contacted or didn't reply - it was either off, or had lost all or part of its internet connection at the time of the delivery attempt - or more unlikely is that the sending email server had a problem with its routing tables or something and was able to find the destination due to a problem on its end.
