SPMBT 5.0 game anyone?
Hi everyone! As the title says I'm looking for an opponent for a SPMBT 5.0 game.

I like to play "realistic" battles on pre-designed maps, and I also like historical battles. Some favorites include Indo-Pakistani wars, Iran-Iraq-war, African conflicts, Nato-WP, or some conceivable modern conflict (eg. China-Taiwan, a new Indo-Pakistani war or something). Forces should be kept realistic, so no spamming of ATGMs or cluster munitions or such. Also, the forces should be kept in proportion to each other, so that neither player ends up fighting against vastly superior numbers.

I've got the downloaded version of the game, and PBEM-slots 00-03 open, and I can do a couple of turns per week.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_war...%80%931989

The above URL is a list of "official" wars between the End of WW2 and 1989 (Fall of the Soviet Union), ie: the Cold War.
I could go for Greece vs Albania in '47 or '48
Portugal vs India in '61 ( yes, I'm still trying)
Egypt vs Saudi Arabia '62 to '70
China vs India in '62.
All of the above have flaws as far as play balance, so we would have to agree on what is fair and balanced before getting started.
I have slot 3 open and look to have the time for another game.
If you want to try something really different in 1972 the Chinese gave North Vietnam a bunch of tanks and tracks and sent a corp sized armored force south. It was smashed by US Air power and a small ARVN force. I would have to be something like a dozen air strikes supporting an infantry battalion against a Soviet style Motor rifle regiment.
Look thru the wikipedia article and if something catches your eye, let me know.

Hmm, there might've been an error. In short, I was thinking about Somalia vs Ethiopia in 1977 or 1982, or Egypt vs Saudi-Arabia in 1962. Also, what do you think about the Sino-Vietnamese-conflict of 1979? Here's some information about it:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sino-Vietnamese_War

There should be a few vietnamese maps suitable for that one, and I think it could be an intresting match. Anyway, if you can do the setup you can choose whichever battle and nation you wish. Drop me an e-mail so we can work out the details.

OK, the Ethopia-Somalia in '82 is OK. Ethopia has a slight Experence-moral advantage at 70/70 to 65/70 but I can live with that. And the Somalians have 5 RPG's per Company which isn't a lot but enough to keep from being something the motor pool has to wash out of the tracks later. I'll send a file set. If I can't find a suitable map, I'll go with the map generator and fix any bo-bos.
Bo-bos are what English speakers call mistakes.

Add a couple of B's and you got something. There are numerous English words for what you got, however in some instances a picture is worth a thousand words. Moving pictures are worth even more;

That's the video I listen to when I'm planning a para drop. Very inspirational!
