Looking for a Desert Rat!
Hello guys,

I´m looking for some real desert rat! Is there some real fan of African Front titles?

Here is what I´m looking for:

I want to play the North African titles, taking the Axis side. The first campaign is the Compass ´40 expansion pack for El Alamein´42 from VolcanoMan:) So here I will take the Italians and I´m looking for someone to command British Western Desert Force.

We will start with ´´Graziani´s Offensive´´ scenario, which is 62 turns long. However our turns should be quick as there are not so many units to command. After it´s completion we can take then the Compass Campaign, a bit longer with over 300 turns. But not many units to command too..

This will be my first game here in The Blitz Club, but I´m not definitely new to the Panzer Campaigns as I play it for few years now, so I would like to find someone with enough experiences to not just moving your units around without any logic, attacking with the tactic - throw everything on the enemy including HQs, AA units, doctors, nurses and even cooks.:smoke:
Someone who knows that there is something like withdrawing your units when they are high on fatigue and not letting them ´pass´ and then ending the game sooner than Time limit is reached, because this tactic costed a lot of victory points..

Someone who tries to play as realistically as it is possible, of course I don´t mean playing strictly historically! I mean things like using your units for purposes they were designed for, and that is not launching any crazy recon missions with your HQs, not attacking or doing recon with your AA units or not taking you artillery units to dig in at the bridge to hold it. I also don´t like when people mix units with such intensity that you have 5 or 6 units from 4 or 5 different divisions on one hex. This I really hate. Some people just don´t understand that this wasn´t the way it was working. I don´t say that one division can´t support another, but sometimes, especially on the Eastern Front titles, I feel like being on some market where in the one box you see so many colors that you don´t know which fruit is the one that this box belongs to:rolleyes: I know that to someone it may sound weird or something, but I believe you understand what I want to say:cool2: I shake my head sometimes to see what are some players able to do with these great games..

I´m preparing to do some nice good-looking AARs, first from these two battles, then I want to continue of course. It will take some time to play, and some time to do the AARs, but hey, where to hurry? Don´t be afraid, you do not have to make any AAR:cool2:

I just want to be sure that if I invest the time for it, it will be also some fun and that I won´t end with my opponent disapeared in the middle of the gameBig Grin So, check the scenario if you are not very familiar with it, please check also the NOTES that are for this campaign, so you won´t be surprised why this is so and that so. I want someone who will understand what these battles are about and not doing crazy experiments also.

And the most important thing - it´s just a FUN !!!!!
I want to end the scenario even when it is clear I will loose, ´cause there can be some fun with it too, and I never surrender no matter what. I want the same from you also. I have some experiences with - I won´t win it anyhow (even when the game just started!), and it don´t makes you to enjoy the game, trust me.

Big Grin I know these are pretty some nice long sentences for just a challenge post, but you know I don´t want to just jump into it again and then get disapointed.

So, please reply here or contact me on my e-mail address, we will discuss the Optional Rules and everything then;) Just be 110% sure you want to go for it and have some fun!

Only one more thing to be said, about Optional Rules - we will play with the Explicit Supply:smoke:

So, is there some skilled Desert Rat who definitely wants to meet on the hot African battlefield? I´m looking forward to meet you:smoke:

Best Regards,
Filip Opálka
