Possible Virus Threat
Guys,
One of the Blitz Officers caught a new member posting a PDF file claiming to detail the JTCS CS encryption system. The post was immediately flagged, but probably not before some members saw it and possibly downloaded the file.
To any member who downloaded or opened this PDF, I recommend you scan your computer for viruses, updating your definitions first, and scan for malware as well. Virused PDFs are all the rage at the moment, though they usually arrive in your email. Even if the file is legit, the fact that it is exposing hacks and trying to hurt a game we all play and love—to say nothing of the company and friends that put it out there for us—is disgusting.
In the future, I don't recommend opening files on the Blitz unless the member is known to you. This guy was obviously bogus. When in doubt, alert an officer to check into anything you feel is suspicious.
Thanks,
Dave
