Getting fire support into position

Beyond trying to ensure that the base of fire has cover / concealment- does anyone have any tips for getting mgs and mortars into firing positions without getting compromised and disrupted in the interim?

+1 An interesting question, especially given the LOS mechanics mean you could end up 1 hex away from an enemy unit at the end of your turn and not have a clue it was there until the following turn.
