In the first round it shows me as allied to start out. Will this be a mirrored battle where I will also get to fight as axis too against the same player.

The plan is that the first phase of the tournament is played over 4 rounds. There is one battle to fight in each round. You will fight 2 battles as Axis and 2 battles as Allied. Each battle will be fought on a different map against a different opponent.

So, no you won't play the same player again.
